The Driving Concept
We are more familiar with everyday driving, where vehicles require human beings to control them. However, it has been tipped that in the next few years we are going to see an increase in driverless cars on the streets, leaving a question about the future of driving. A driverless or autonomous vehicle is any vehicle which can move from one point to another without the control of a human being. With most of us growing up in an era where one was eager to learn how to drive, it seems that new generations will see driving as a hobby, not as a valuable skill.
Driverless Car Technology
Automated features in cars have been in use for a long time, and its the advancements in terms of technology which have seen a more improved design of vehicles, such as the self-drive features.
- Map and sensor information
To navigate, these vehicles use maps and sensor information to determine the best route, location, and destination. The sensors help to detect objects which are around 200 yards away, based on the movement pattern and size in all directions of the vehicle. Its the car’s software that will determine the movement and speed based on the predictions of the sensor.
- The interior
Because the vehicle does not require a person to sit in the driver’s seat, the interior is designed for riding. This makes the car more comfortable, enabling you to do other things, such as watching a movie or going through your emails as you commute.
- Electric batteries
The vehicles run on electric batteries which help store a charge which is used by the sensors and maps. The automatic features require power to function, hence the need for more a reliable power source.
- Rounded exterior
The vehicle is designed with a rounded surface to enable the sensors to have a perfect view of the surroundings.
